I am a retired Horticulturist having enjoyed working in the industry for over 4 decades, twenty of those years as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Horticulture.

I have been lucky to work in Australia & Asia whilst travelling worldwide seeking new horticultural experiences, exploring communities & experiencing other cultures …… whilst enhancing my everyday life. Sharing my love of plants and our natural world I have had varied audiences around the world. Its also important to me to learn from other gardeners & my peers.

Greatest joy has been gained as the owner/MD of AIMS Pty Ltd from 1998 to 2023. My company specialised in providing horticultural consultancies and landscape assessments. I was also proud, along with my team members,  to be a pioneer in our industry fulfilling a niche market by developing and providing training programmes. These programmes were designed to recognise and certify senior practising horticulturists, both in Australia & Singapore. Over the 12 years working with the Singapore National Parks Board to deliver and assess the CPH programme the team shared our knowledge and skills with over 300 participants from Singapore and other other Asian countries.. The Singapore CPH scheme continues to be the measure for all senior horticulturists to date. 

From 2015 to 2024 I was privileged to be a member of the board of the Friends of Brisbane Botanic Gardens & Sherwood Arboretum (fBBGSA). It was a fulfilling purpose to share my horticultural knowledge and skills at the same time working alongside other committed volunteers. Botanic gardens  Are my first port of call whilst travelling, they are a benefit to the community.
